Amber’s Top 10 Games with Easy Platinum’s

Achievements and trophies are well established amongst gaming groups today, with many seeking help online to aid their quest towards a Platinum trophy or 1000 gamerscore. Not all games are created equal and that follows through to their lists. The majority of players will finish the game and then be done and it is only the dedicated that will make a push for Platinum.

Today I’m looking at my top 10 games with easy Platinums. Some of the games on today’s list will also be available on their Xbox counterpart but this particular list is focussed on the PlayStation only. The list is based on personal experience and stats from sites such as PSNP and PST.

1 – Slyde (PS4)

Taking less than 10 minutes to complete, Slyde will add a Platinum and 14 other trophies to your collection. Created by the developer behind the now removed 1000 Top Rated, Slyde is a similar type of puzzle game. Setting up the game on either medium or hard difficulty will produce a picture puzzle in which you slide pieces to create the original photos. It’s easy due to the fact that if space appears in either the lower left or upper right corners, you can follow a guide to correctly move the pieces.

2 – The Walking Dead (and other Telltale Games titles) (PS3, PS4, and Vita)

Telltale Games have always been known for their amazing storytelling and one other thing – easy trophies. The Walking Dead and other titles such as Tales From the BorderlandsA Wolf Among Us and Game of Thrones require you to simply play the game to unlock all trophies and eventually the Platinum.

The great thing about these games is that they can be stacked, meaning you can earn the Platinum for each of these games on PS3, PS4 and Vita should they be available on all platforms. That’s up to three Platinum’s per game – wow!

3 – Energy Cycle (PS4 and Vita)

With a puzzle walkthrough and use of the glitch exploit, this game can be completed in under half an hour. You must play 28 of the “Puzzle Mode” levels, 1 “Time Attack” and 1 “Infinite Play” to obtain your Platinum. You can find more about the glitch exploit here.

4 – Steins;Gate (and other Japanese VN’s) (PS3, PS4, and Vita)

With the skip text function, Japanese VN’s (visual novels) are great for adding large amounts of trophies to your collection. Whilst I’m guilty of playing a handful of these games, I have taken the time to go back and read through all of the text at a later date. Why? Many of these VN’s have fantastic stories which are worth spending time on – Virtue’s Last Reward is one which comes to mind.

Like with Telltale almost all of these titles can be stacked on various platforms.

5 – 36 Fragments of Midnight (PS4 and Vita)

Made by the same developer of the most recent title Midnight Deluxe, this games has you controling a small square around various levels. Although it requires a little more effort than any of the titles mentioned so far, it is still easy. Not only do you get a Platinum but also eleven Gold’s.

6 – Jak II (PS4)

Although what I’m going to explain to you can technically be done on the PS3 version of the game it’s much easier on the PS4. The Platinum in this game can be unlocked in just minutes thanks to the Debug Menu. There are two codes which can be input on the menu which will change some of the options during the pause menu when you begin your game. These options include level and cutscene select which allow you to skip to the end of the game – thus earning you the trophies.

Orbs can also be collected by turning on a second controller. You can read more about the Debug Menu here.

7 – Life is Strange (PS3 and PS4)

Very similar to Telltale and their games, Life is Strange requires you to play the game and obtain photographs of certain items and events happening in the world around you. The majority of these collectibles are easy enough to spot but using a guide takes out the hassle. Complete the story and find all the photograph opportunities to earn the Platinum.

8 – Terminator Salvation (PS3)

Not many people have access to a PS3 anymore but if you do then you’re in luck. This movie adaptation, not the best admittedly, requires you to complete the campaign on the hardest difficulty settings. There’s nothing to panic about as the games hard mode can be completed in no time. For your troubles you get a Platinum and eleven Gold’s.

9 – My Name is Mayo (PS4 and Vita)

You will not believe it but this game requires you to click a jar of mayonnaise. As you progress, several outfits for you mayo unlock and clicking on the jar wearing these new outfits unlocks more trophies. You need to round off your clicking at the 10,000 mark and you will have another Platinum in your collection.

10 – CSI: Fatal Conspiracy (PS3)

Another PS3 game you say? This CSI game requires you to play through all of the cases, reach 100% with your skill, thoroughness and cunning, and browse the menus amongst a couple of other little things. It requires a bit of time to achieve the Platinum, an afternoon maybe, but it’s not rocket science.

The only real disappointing aspect of this game is how awful it is, you have to search deep for some redeeming qualities.

What Makes Your List?

These are my top 10 games with easy Platinums but there are many more that come to mind after these. There are also an abundance of easy 100% PSN games which I may add to a list at a later date.
