2015 is here and I’ve listed the games which I can’t wait to play this year. It’s a small list, granted, but the few games that I have mentioned are – hopefully – worth players time once they’re released. There is a bit of everything here to suit everyone, from zombie bashing titles to exclusives like no other. There’s still plenty of time left to add more to the list as the year goes on, so here’s hoping I can create a second edition sometime later in the year!
Dead Island 2 – PS4, Xbox One and PC
I’ve played Dead Island, I’ve played Dead Island: Riptide and I’ve played Dead Island: Epidemic, I’m hoping that Dead Island 2 will finally check all of the boxes the fourth time around. Small tweaks have been made here and there during the series’ progression, but I’m still waiting for the mega changes to arrive. Since the release of the official trailer back at E3, I can officially say that Dead Island 2 might finally break through the chains that have been holding the series back. If not, at least the trailer was kind of awesome.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance – PS4, Xbox One and PC
Who doesn’t like knights in shining armour, swords and horses on an epic scale? The game takes place in 15th century Europe and is part of the RPG genre, allowing you to shape your character and play how you wish: warrior, bard and thief. With a wide and open world to explore, hundreds of weapons, fighting techniques and steeds to ride, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is set to be a thriller of a game. The best part of this game is the fact that it has been funded by you – the players – having already reached a total of $2,240,762! That’s an amazing feat!
Tom Clancy’s The Division – PS4, Xbox One and PC
Tom Clancy’s The Division is an upcoming open world third-person shooter role-playing video game with survival elements, but most of all it looks amazing! Set in New York City, your mission is to restore order, team up with other agents and take back the city. The Division is an online, open-world RPG experience like no other, where exploration and play-progression are essential to surviving. The game has been created using Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine, meaning that the experience has been created for next-gen consoles and PC only. It’s sure to be one of the hottest releases on 2015 – I hope!
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – PS4
One of the biggest exclusives to hit PlayStation in a while, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has been rumoured to be the last game in the series, but with a title such as that who isn’t going to say otherwise? As always you will take the role of Nathan Drake, now much older, as he pursues a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure. There has also been hints towards a brother making an appearance, voiced by none other than Troy Baker. It looks amazing, it sounds amazing, I just hope the end product is amazing (it is Naughty Dog, sure I’m sure it will be).
