Identity: Ambitious player freedom with a twist

Have you ever wished you could enter a game world that complimented reality, except without all the awful bits? A place where you could start a conversation with like minded people, pursue a career that you’ve always wanted to partake in or just have a place to relax after a hard days graft? Identity might be the game you’ve been waiting for!

Described as a “modern-day open-world MMORPG for PC and Mac with complete freedom to do almost anything you can imagine at any time in first or third person views” by its developers, Identity allows you live as a civilian in a cyber world. Unlike traditional RPG’s there are no levels or skill grinding, but talent and perk progression, which ultimately allows you to craft a character that means something to you by your actions only.

Identity will be runs by the players – for the players, with an enormous online and persistent world controlled in almost every aspect by the players living within it. With player driven gameplay that includes an ever changing economy, job roles and careers, there’s something for everyone! If you want to live as an every day citizen, you can, or if you wish to pursue a career in the police force or as a criminal, so be it! The possibilities are endless, or so the developers say.

“Identity is all about fun, freedom, social interaction and so much to do that you’re never left bored.”

Identity will include vehicles, realistic weapons and properties. It will be a living and breathing online community, it’s like The Sims but better!

Currently the team are at $149,045 out of a $150,000 goal at the time of writing this, that means they’re already close! With 43 hours to go, I believe that developers Asylum Entertainment, Inc. can get some extra cash to put into their ambitious project. You can back the project by visiting their official Kickstarter page.
