The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a horror story with emphasis on exploration and discovery, created by the developers that brought us Painkiller and Bulletstorm. Not a lot of details have been released bar a few screens and some little teasers, but today a new game website was opened and brought with it a release date and a 13-minute gameplay trailer which includes developer commentary.
Due to the developers not wanting to spoil the game for potential buyers, the trailer jumps around from time to time in order to skip the juicy bits. Even so, many of the games mechanics are shows and some of the games beautifully designed locations. All locations in the game are available to explore from the start, there are no artificial blockers located in the game world which allows a lot of freedom when it comes to travelling. Ethan Carter, though it isn’t final, looks amazing and plays well.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter will be available September 25 and you can pre-order it now from ethancartergame.com
